Commission A Painting

COMMISSION A PAINTING

For the past few years house portraits have been a pleasure to do for some lovely clients. It’s great to deliver an artwork that means a great deal to someone. I have also produced wedding venue pieces as well as garden portraits. The spaces we share with others are so important and having those memories captured is a great gift.

Commissioning a painting is not as complicated as you might think. I have been painting commissions for clients for many years, and pride myself on my straightforward easy service.
You can commission a special one-off hand-painted house portrait, landscape painting, street scene, or even a painting of a special garden from the comfort of your own home.

PAINTING SIZE & PRICING
Price always is the first consideration so we shall start with that. The chart below gives you a rough guide on sizes and prices. I can order bespoke sizes other than those listed and can be quoted upon request. Prices are the same whether your commission is a house portrait, landscape painting, street scene or even a painting of a special garden.

24 x 18 inch (610 x 460mm) £650
30 x 20 inch (760 x 510mm) £700

40 x 30 inch (1010 x 769mm) £850

PHOTOS
After the initial contact, the first thing to do is send me your photos. Commissions can be painted from your own good quality photographs. If you would like me to take the photographs and I am close by (within 20 miles) I am happy to do that also. We can discuss what elements to add in or keep out at this stage.

PLACE A DEPOSIT
Once everything is decided, I ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure a place on my waiting list. I work on a first come first served basis, so I work in order of bookings taken. I will issue you with an invoice with a start/finish date for your painting detailing payment methods. UK customers can pay via online bank transfer payment. Customers visiting my studio can pay via credit/debit cards via my iZettle card reader.

THE APPROVAL PROCESS
Once I have painted your commission, I will email you through a photograph of it for your approval. This is a chance to suggest any changes that you may like to see. If the changes are small there will be no extra charge for this.

FINAL PAYMENT
Once your painting has been finished, any adjustments you requested have been made, and you are completely happy with the results, I will email you a final invoice for the remaining balance.

DELIVERY OF YOUR ARTWORK
I use Parcelforce to make my deliveries. Postage & packaging on all commissions is based on size and weight and will be added to the price for delivery within mainland UK. International postage prices will need to be quoted individually though, according to size and destination location. You can also arrange to collect direct from myself.

FRAMING
All my commissioned paintings are sold unframed. I work closely with a local framer Hall of Frames in Belper who I would highly recommend if you are local and do not have your own framer already in mind. They can work with you to frame your painting as you wish.

FINALLY
If you would like to start the ball rolling on a commission, please email me at ruthgrayimages@hotmail.com or contact me through this website. I look forward to working with you.
